🛫 Which airport should I fly into?
You have two main options:
1. Portland International Jetport (PWM) – Closest & Easiest
Located about 10–15 minutes from downtown Portland
Small, easy to navigate, and very rideshare-friendly
Ideal if you’d like a simple, low-stress arrival
2. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) – More Flight Options
Larger airport with more airlines and routes
About 1 hour 45 minutes–2 hours from Portland by car or bus
đźš— Getting from Boston (Logan) to Portland
If you fly into Boston, you have two main options to get to Portland:
Option 1: Rent a Car
Pick up a rental at Logan
Drive north to Portland (about 1 hour 45 minutes, traffic dependent)
A good choice if you plan to explore more of Maine or stay outside downtown
Option 2: Concord Coach Lines (Bus)
Comfortable, direct bus from Logan Airport to the Portland Transportation Center
Easy pickup from airport terminals
Drops you in Portland where you can easily use rideshare to reach your hotel

You do not need a car to enjoy Portland if you’re staying downtown.
Rideshare: Uber & Lyft are readily available
Many hotels, restaurants, shops, and the waterfront are within a short ride or walk
Portland is very walkable and compact, so it’s easy to explore on foot once you’re in the city.
