On May 21, 2024, a simple online connection turned into something neither of us expected — or could ever have imagined.
We had our first date the very next evening at The Dolphin Restaurant in Harpswell. What was meant to be dinner quickly became the beginning of everything. Just three days later, we were boating out to Jewel Island and dropping anchor in Cocktail Cove — sun, salt air, and the unmistakable feeling that something special was unfolding.
Before long, Wednesdays became ours. So did the weekends. By the Fourth of July long weekend, we knew. On July 7, 2024, we officially became a couple — though in our hearts, it had already happened.
From Boston to Belfast, we explored the cities and coastal towns hand in hand. We cooked dinners together, shared quiet evenings on the deck, and discovered that time apart felt like months rather than days. Life felt lighter, fuller, and more certain.
On Saturday, December 21, 2024, we had planned a beautiful evening — a nice dinner and the exchange of engagement bracelets. But we couldn’t wait. Instead, we had breakfast in bed, looked at each other, and knew. We placed the bracelets on each other’s wrists that morning, and they’ve only come off for very specific reasons since.
In May 2025, we officially moved in together — not just sharing a home, but building a life. And every day since has confirmed what we felt that first week:
We found our person.
